Sync and Apple Watch
Why is FocusDrop not syncing between my iPhone and Apple Watch?
FocusDrop on Apple Watch doesn't sync through iCloud. It talks directly to FocusDrop on your paired iPhone, which runs every session and sends the Watch your tasks, habits and timer when it opens and whenever something changes. When the Watch falls behind:
- Open FocusDrop on your iPhone. That sends the Watch your latest state.
- Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together. On the iPhone, check that Airplane Mode is off and that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on; on the Watch, check that Airplane Mode is off. Apple's guide covers what to do if your Apple Watch isn't connected to your iPhone.
- Still stuck? Close FocusDrop on your iPhone, open it again, then open FocusDrop on the Watch.
Does the FocusDrop Apple Watch app work without my iPhone?
No: FocusDrop for Apple Watch is a companion to the iPhone app. It needs your paired iPhone with FocusDrop installed, and the sessions you start on your wrist run on the iPhone. From the Watch you can start a Sprint (10 minutes), Flow (15) or Deep (25) session, pause and end it, start, complete or postpone your next tasks, and tick off today's habits. It needs watchOS 10 or later.
Does ending a FocusDrop session early on Apple Watch save it?
No: in FocusDrop, ending a session early from Apple Watch, with either the check or the × button, stops it without saving it, so it adds no minutes, XP or drop. To finish early and keep the minutes, tap the check on your iPhone, then Finish. A session that runs to its end is saved normally on the iPhone, and the Watch then shows NICE WORK with the minutes you focused. If the Watch stays at 0:00, open FocusDrop on your iPhone.
Why does FocusDrop on Apple Watch show 0:00 during open focus?
FocusDrop 1.6.1 has a known display issue here: when you start open focus (the mode with no timer) on your iPhone, the Watch shows 0:00 and a full ring. The session is running normally on the iPhone, where you can see the time and finish it.
Why isn't FocusDrop syncing through iCloud?
FocusDrop syncs your tasks, habits, focus sessions and progress through your own private iCloud, between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. To see what sync is doing, open Profile → iCloud Sync in the app:
- Up to date or Syncing… means it's working.
- Offline means your changes are saved on the device and will sync when iCloud is reachable.
- Needs attention names the problem underneath. Not signed in to iCloud: tap Open Settings, then sign in at the top of the Settings app. iCloud storage full: make room in Settings → your name → iCloud, then tap Check Again. Sync couldn't start, or hit a snag: tap Try Again, and if FocusDrop then says everything looks ready, quit and reopen it. If iCloud is restricted by Screen Time or a managed profile, there's no button, and sync can't run until that changes.
Also check that iCloud is on for FocusDrop: open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, tap See All next to Saved to iCloud, and make sure FocusDrop is on. FocusDrop keeps working on each device while sync is paused, and nothing saved there is lost.
FocusDrop Pro and billing
How do I cancel FocusDrop Pro?
FocusDrop Pro subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you cancel them in your Apple Account, not in the app. On your iPhone:
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the FocusDrop subscription, then Cancel Subscription.
On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click your name again, then click Subscriptions, click the FocusDrop subscription and click Cancel Subscription. On either device, if there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiry message in red, the subscription is already cancelled. You can also cancel on the web at account.apple.com. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period or the 7-day free trial ends. FocusDrop Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to cancel. Apple's own steps for every device are in Cancel a subscription from Apple.
How do I restore FocusDrop Pro on a new iPhone?
FocusDrop checks your purchases with Apple every time it starts, so FocusDrop Pro usually comes back by itself on an iPhone signed in to the Apple Account you bought it with. If it doesn't, open Profile, tap Upgrade to Pro, then tap Restore Purchase at the bottom of the screen. Restore brings back Lifetime, and Monthly or Yearly while the subscription is active.
How do I get a refund for FocusDrop Pro?
Refunds for FocusDrop Pro go through Apple, which took the payment; the developer can't issue them. Sign in to reportaproblem.apple.com, choose I'd like to, then Request a refund, pick a reason and the FocusDrop purchase, and submit. Apple says to expect an update within 24 to 48 hours. The details are in Apple's article on requesting a refund.
Do I need FocusDrop Pro for the Apple Watch app?
No: the FocusDrop Apple Watch app is free. Sessions you start from your wrist count toward the free plan's 5 focus sessions a day, the same as sessions started on the iPhone, and at the limit the iPhone offers Pro. With FocusDrop Pro there's no daily limit on either device.
What does FocusDrop include for free?
FocusDrop is free to download, and the free plan gives you up to 7 tasks in your deck and 5 focus sessions a day, with the Sprint, Flow and Deep lengths, Pomodoro Mode, open focus, habits, widgets, the Apple Watch app and iCloud sync. FocusDrop Pro removes both limits and adds custom focus lengths, +5 minutes during a session, a weekly streak freeze, Co-Focus, AI Task Breakdown on iPhones with Apple Intelligence, the Focus Heatmap, themes and the Reward Shop. In the US, Pro is $3.99 a month, $23.99 a year with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, or $49.99 once.
Your data
Where does FocusDrop store my data?
FocusDrop stores your tasks, habits and sessions on your device. With iCloud sync on, your tasks and session history also sync through your own private iCloud, which the developer can't read. There's no account and no FocusDrop server. The AI features run on your device through Apple Intelligence; nothing you type is sent to an AI service or to the developer. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I export or delete my FocusDrop data?
FocusDrop has no export feature. Your data stays with you, on your devices and, with sync on, in your own iCloud; there's no FocusDrop server holding a copy for the developer to send or delete. To delete everything:
- Delete FocusDrop from each device. That removes the app and the data stored on that device.
- Then remove the copy in iCloud: open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Storage or Manage Account Storage. Tap FocusDrop, then Delete Data from iCloud.
Deleting the app on its own doesn't remove the iCloud copy. Copies inside backups made earlier, such as an iCloud Backup of your iPhone or a backup on a computer, stay until those backups are replaced or deleted.
FocusDrop for Mac
Where is FocusDrop on my Mac?
FocusDrop for Mac isn't on the App Store yet. As of 23 October 2026, the App Store has FocusDrop 1.6.1 for iPhone and Apple Watch; FocusDrop for Mac 1.0 is built and coming soon, as a menu-bar app for macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The Mac line on the FocusDrop App Store page today describes the iPhone app running on a Mac with Apple silicon (Designed for iPhone), not FocusDrop for Mac. The FocusDrop for Mac page shows what's coming.
Where is FocusDrop on my Mac?
FocusDrop for Mac lives in the menu bar at the top of your screen and has no Dock icon. Click the drop in the menu bar to start a session, pick a focus sound, or open Plan Today, Tasks & Stats and Settings. On a MacBook with a notch, hover over the notch for a moment, or click it, to open the island with your next task, a focus dial and today's habits; press Esc to close it. On a Mac without a notch, the island sits in a small pill at the top centre of the screen. From any app, Control-Option-F (⌃⌥F) adds a task, or parks a thought during a session. To start FocusDrop when you log in, turn on Settings → Mac → Launch at login.
Does FocusDrop for Mac sync with my iPhone?
Yes: FocusDrop for Mac syncs through the same private iCloud as the iPhone app when both are signed in to the same Apple Account. Tasks, habits, focus sessions, XP, streaks and drops sync, and reach your Apple Watch through your iPhone. You create habits on the iPhone and tick them off on the Mac. Today's plan, parked thoughts and your Mac settings stay on the Mac. The Mac has its own switch: open Settings from the drop in the menu bar, go to Sync, and turn Sync with iPhone & Apple Watch (iCloud) on or off. The change takes effect after FocusDrop restarts.
Is FocusDrop Pro the same on my Mac?
It's the same purchase, but FocusDrop Pro does less on the Mac. Pro bought on your iPhone or your Mac works on iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac with the same Apple Account. The free plan is the same on the Mac, up to 7 tasks in your deck and 5 focus sessions a day, shared across your devices when sync is on. On the Mac, Pro removes those limits and adds focus lengths from 5 to 60 minutes in 5-minute steps, +5 minutes during a timed session and the weekly streak freeze. Co-Focus, AI Task Breakdown, the Focus Heatmap, weekly challenges, the Reward Shop and themes are part of the iPhone app and aren't in FocusDrop for Mac. To restore a purchase on the Mac, open Settings from the drop in the menu bar and click Restore Purchase.
What does FocusDrop for Mac need?
FocusDrop for Mac needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor. On a MacBook with a notch, the island sits in the notch; on any other Mac it's a pill at the top of the screen. Sync needs iCloud, and the iPhone and Apple Watch apps are optional. It's in the same eight languages as the iPhone app and follows your Mac's language.
Using FocusDrop
Where do completed tasks go in FocusDrop?
In FocusDrop, swiping a card up marks the task done, and you'll find it under Calendar → Completed Tasks. Swiping right starts a focus session on the task, left sends it to the back of the deck (nothing is deleted), and down opens its details.
Can I change FocusDrop's default focus length?
Yes: in FocusDrop, open Profile → Default Focus. With Pro you get the exact length you pick; on the free plan it snaps to the nearest of Sprint (10 minutes), Flow (15) or Deep (25).
Which languages does FocusDrop support?
FocusDrop is in eight languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, German, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. It uses the first language in your iPhone's list (Settings → General → Language & Region) that it supports, and English otherwise. This website, the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy are in English.
